    My colleague said he had a copper water heater in the place his parents built long ago. Why don't they still sell these? Are they too expensive?

    Hi @ChrisJ , Dropping the pressure will help. I've installed tanks and heard the glass lining cracking as they reached pressure that was too high. The steel will stretch under pressure, and the glass won't. The rule about anodes is to replace them when six inches of the core wire is exposed. I also look to see if the rod has passivated and is no longer working. That's mostly a problem in clean water with low TDS.
