Maid O' Mist Brass Blank Orifice Threaded 5/16-32
Sometimes I find that even Maid O' Mist #4s are too big with a 0.040" orifice. Here is a source for brass #70 (5/16-32) with blank orifices, ready to drill:
Maybe with a little searching, you could come up with a #70 already drilled with sizes from #4 up to D and save the cost of an entire vent when you just need the orifice.

Can you fill the orifice hole of an orifice that is too big with solder or epoxy and drill the hole size you would prefer ?

you can solder up the hole and drill it to whatever size you want. that is what they do with gas orifices if they need to resize them smaller.

Yes I saw that, but that does not mean it won't close down more or totally.

I'm sorry but there's no way a #4 is too large a vent.
If your radiator still heats too much, just cover it.

Thank you for the link to the MOM adjustable cap. It looks like a great solution to a lot of problems and the photo makes it look like it adjusts to all the way closed.
But I like the MOM for the reason that they are fixed vents and once installed and balanced, they can't be changed.
Thanks for the advice but there is no way I am going to tell a customer to cover a radiator when a $6.00 orifice will tame an overheating radiator once and for all.

my point is the #4 is a tiny hole.
Trying to drill an even smaller hole isn’t likely to result in a noticeable difference

To me you don't want to slow down that radiator more, you want to speed up the rest.
