I wish I could take credit for it but it was basically @EBEBRATT-Ed idea. It seems to solve the apparent changing load characteristic of the damper. I just integrated it into the Ladder Wiring Diagram for the boiler.

@109A_5 … That sounds like @ ED. He really likes those RIB relays. Nice Diagram.

After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

I do like RIBs. esp. the RIBU1C

The idiot light. NO or NC, 120 or 10-30 volt ACor DC coil. $16

    Very handy.

This was my first introduction to this unit. One of those objects you get your hands on and immediately fall in love. Bought myself a spare because I absolutely know I’m going to have a use for it sooner or later.

One note - I've got the '3' and '1' terminals connected as shown here; this seemed to me to be the right way to do it based on my understanding of the 32392/ICM203. (I.e., in this diagram we'd be "looking at the timer from behind.")

I haven't tested to see if it makes a difference in this setup, but apparently it might in some applications…

Anyway, I post this because I will update the OP on this thread with the solution for future searchers and wanted to be sure we have all things accounted for.

Although I did see it in that YouTube video that the person in the video complained the timer was hooked up backwards (with no real demonstration and resolution in the video, I think there was other issues), I would say in this case it does not matter. IMO it does not matter which way terminals 1 and 3 are connected, for two reasons, first it is a series circuit (it's only a two wire device), also it is an AC series circuit. Secondly (at least with the ICM203F) the terminals 1 and 3 immediately goes through a bridge rectifier circuit inside the timer and it does not care either way about terminals 1 and 3.

Your connection details may be helpful to others if they have never worked with relays and/or this type of timer before.

    Thanks.
