Hi,,New here,,Picked up a old Sears Vented Heater Model 155 850232. Would like to change it from Nat. to LP,, I can find the orifices I think,,wondering if I have to do something with the main gas valve,I believe it is a 31A valve.

Thanks for any info and help...

Is the valve rated for LP ?

If so the burner's manifold pressure should be verified & adjusted if needed and a combustion analysis done to verify the modification is working correctly.

I assume so,Sears Parts Direct gave me a part # for a kit of conversion orifices. Guess I will have to find someone that could tell me if the valve can handle propane.Thanks..

The gas valve is a Model 36C06,,from my research today , I believe it looks pretty easy to convert the valve over and parts look available. Any recommendations on working on the gas valve would be great…

The kit should come with a new plunger for the gas regulator in the valve . Then you need to set the gas pressure to spec . A manometer is used to measure the low pressure ..

If its a old stranding pilot there would be a pilot change

does the kit come wit instructions or are there instructions on the sears parts web site? The 155 source code seems to indicate that it was made by preway.

Sadly the only data I can find so far skips your gas valve.
