V- Groove

Hello All!

Im in the market for a V-groove tool. I dont do a lot of this stuff, but it makes sense to have it when we get to job that has it and we need to make modifications. Also, we have been taken on some bigger work so it may be needed.

I was hoping to see what others have been using and liking. I own a Compact 300 ridgid so the tool that fits that seems kind of ideal I think its a Ridgid 918.

What I am hoping to avoid is comments from those who hate V-groove. I understand the pros and cons and not asking about that. Just the tool to make the groove.

Thanks all

Tom

We use the Victaulic groover that mounted on a Ridgid 300. Don't know the model or if it fits a "compact 300"

They make a lot of different models and so dose Ridgid.

What you pick depends on what pipe size you're doing.

If doing 4" or smaller you can get away with less expense and weight to drag around. If your doing a lot of 6" and up be prepared to spend $$$$$ and it will be heavy

yes for victaulic. I would assume we would only go to 4". My thinking is Ridgid, it's typically what I go for, but wasn't sure what others thought.

    Thanks

I've been installing Victaulic and Gruvlok systems since the late 1980s in commercial and industrial applications. If you're going to be in that sector, and you want to be competitive, you really need to invest in a machine groover and lite portable model. Mad Dog
