Navien combi

Hello,
I have a customer that has a Navien combi boiler. It is currently hooked up to city water (Port Washington, NY). The homeowner is installing a whole house water filtration system including a water softener. I need to re-pipe most of the water piping in the house. Should I keep the boiler on "city water" or connect to the new filtered/softened water? I thought I remember reading that "soft" water in no good for these boilers (and most high efficiency ones). Any input would be greatly apricated.
Thank you.

typically the boiler is filled and little if any water gets added
If you have water that is way out if the spec that Navian suggests,
fill the boiler thru one of theseI also like to add a conditioner to the filtered water
I would not use softened water to fill the boiler!

Keep the boiler on city water. Softened water is remarkably aggressive, and you really don't want that in your boiler…

We have excellent water in Nassau County vis-a-vis other regions. I wouldn't hesitate to connect to Port water. Mad Dog
