Myers C48D53B86 jet pump- Help

My Georhermal pump cart- somehow lost its bleeder Petcock. If there’s a better word for it, please let me know. I have no idea who to ask, should I call Myers?
I was able to stick a foam ear plug into it, made a little mess on the floor, not too bad. But I need to mix some ethanol, and don’t want to be making a mess with potent stuff.
Thanks for any advice
Edit- 1/8 inch ips is too large to fit in.

It’s like a wing nut thing that allows you to bleed off the air from the impeller area of the pump. It’s not inside the threads- it’s simply gone.
It’s somewhere between the last job we did this past winter and the shop and the job we are on now.
Lesson learned - I’ll always tighten it from now on

might have read just a bit too quickly—-
the “body” didn’t want to budge when I tried to turn it out. It was egging. I’ll need to put a box end wrench on it.
if I really strike out I can possibly pull the “body” and tap an 1/8 NPT,0 -
if you figure out the thread size you’ll have more options.

@GW # you posted is the AO smith motor # not the pump. I found some myers pumps but could not find the bleeder and it was not listed as a separate part but I may have not had the right pump Probably could take that fitting out and silver solder something to it like a piece of copper and a valve.

Ed cool I thought AO Smith was the motor only
Good idea on soldering on.I’ll see if I can locate a bypass plug too

I’ll spend more time on it today thanks

I agree with others, very likely the tapping is standard 1/8" pipe thread.

Either one of these should get you fixed up. Those little wing nut looking valves that you sometimes see on air compressors have there place, but sure do fail a lot easier than ^^^^^^this^^^^^^^ type of ball valve.

It looks like it is just threaded in to the pump, maybe heat it and try a 6 pt socket, might be in there with loctite. If you can put something in the middle of it that mostly fits before you try the socket so it doesn't collapse and shear off.
It could just be pressed in but it looks a lot like it just threads in. The threads in the bleeder itself ideally would be acme thread.

you are all very smart
I should’ve slowed down and put a real wrench on it yesterday. But you know how it goes when things are moving quickly.4 -

Is the pump mounted vertically that it traps air? Seems like it would self burp when you fill the cart?
An open frame motor and ethanol , be careful!

yes the motor is vertical.
We’re going to mix outside, no electricity. 50-50 should be fine I think.but I’ll do some more research and maybe lighten the mixture even more.looks like we’re going to be hauling pails the old school way

the vapor is dependent on temp, right?

so around 50% it becomes an issue with wood alcohol. although i have never heard if the plastic tank of kleer view under the hood going up so it probably isn't that easy to get started at moderate temps.

seems like I’ll be good at 20%
Now- where to store the rest of the drum….
