Helping a family member with their oil furnace and don't know what filter to get since all the writing on the housing has been rubbed off. They think it's an old sid harvey but they aren't sure. How can I find out which filter I need to get? Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help!

What else do you plan on doing? And do you have the right tools/skills to do it properly? Especially proper bleeding and settin up combustion?

Why is it leaking? Was the previous one installed incorrectly? Is it leaking out the bleeder screw?

    It’s a General 1A-25a, or better 1A-25b bio rated.

There are several filters sold with different names that are the same just with different names on them. The original is a General 1A25A as @HydronicMike mentioned. It comes with new gaskets. be sure to replace all the gaskets including the large filter bowl gasket and the tiny gaskets under the bleeder screws and under the bolt.

Replacement cartridges are General CR88 or Unifilter RF-1. I prefer the latter because it's easier to see what kind of dirt has accumulated on the cartridge.

Looks like it could use an upgrade kit?

It's leaking because my cousin replaced the filter and lost the 2 little gaskets for the screws and put some other rubber o-rings on there that aren't rated for oil. I want to replace the filter with the right one and gaskets. There's no oil coming out of the gun line so I plan on cleaning the line from the inlet to pump with co2 with filter cartridge out, replacing the filter at tank and the strainer on the pump. If that doesn't do it, then I will replace the coupler and if no oil then I will replace the pump. I already verified good spark at the electrodes and replaced the nozzle

there’s no oil coming out of the gun because it’s air bound from the leaks

We don't blow out lines with CO2 carts anymore.
