What brand of panel radiators have you guys installed and liked? I have a job that the customer wants one vs baseboard. My supply gave me a quote on a Slant Fin panel rad. Panel rads aren't very common in my area so just have limited knowledge of them. Any feedback on brands would be helpful.

Runtal is probably the best but there are lots of lightweight european panel radiators imported under a number of brands that are also good and less expensive. Castrads makes some steel radiators that are worth looking at too. It all depends on what capacity you need, what space you need to fit it in, and what your budget is. US boiler makes some stuff that is worth looking at too although that is mostly cast iron.

  • Buderus makes some nice ones; easy to install.

Thanks guys that's the feedback I was looking for. Don't get a chance to install them much, most customers opt for baseboard in my area.

QHT, Ecorad, Pensotti, Myson -= less $. Runtal, Buderus = more $$. Don't forget the fittings: angle valves, straight valves, H valves, TRV's etc.

Myson is a popular brand. Some installers like the two connections in the center, a cleaner look.

They also have an I-Vector for cooling

Dianorme is also popular , available at many wholesalers.

They aren't installed yet, but I got low mass Strada radiators from Jaga. They offer a large range of sizes and also a fan-assist module for more heat output at lower water temps. The fittings are NPT. I ordered Danfoss TRVs to control them.

  • Jaga has a huge selection of radiators, but I never took the time to learn how to navigate their catalog. Daunting

I was not familiar with those brands. I'm def looking into those as options. My local suppliers aren't well versed in panel rads. I've tried to sell them in the past, but most customers are stuck on traditional baseboards or old school cast iron radiators.

Daunting is an accurate assessment. Narrowing it down to the Strada line helped. The US rep was also very helpful and sent me a spreadsheet from their selection tool that gave the dimensions, type (core size) and BTU output for different entry / exit temps. I ordered them directly from him.

Question on these is there 1 or 2 OEM/ODM on these panel radiators or are all these companies independently manufacturing them? Maybe there should be a megathread as this seems to come up often?

I think it would be hard to track the manufacturer and their partnerships or collaborations.

Just like water heaters or appliances, one factory could be producing for multiple labels,.

Not to mention the knock -off products that make their way into the market with pirated brand names.

I don’t know of any connection between Runtal, Myson and Jaga

There are probably a couple manufacturers but if you look at the different catalogs many of them are clearly made by a 3rd party and rebranded.
