3 ton unit with AHU in the attic. 22 years old. $2500 repair estimate but something else could break while negotiating system replacement. Unless I can find parts cheap we're dead. Using window ACs for now. (I wish new stuff would last 22 years!)

    the installing contractor determines how long equipment will last. 10 to 15 years is average, 20 years is possible.
