Armstrong A95DF1E Furnace Won’t Kick On – Video, Suspect Debris in Valve/Pipe

i everyone, I’m having trouble with my Armstrong A95DF1E (or 95G1DFE) gas furnace—it won’t kick on, and I suspect debris in a valve or pipe. Last time this happened, a technician fixed it by clearing debris from a valve where the air comes through, which was preventing the furnace from heating. I’ve attached a video showing the furnace, its components, and the sounds it makes (or lack thereof).

Here’s what I’ve tried:

  • Thermostat: Checked it’s set to “Heat” and raised the temperature. No response, but the display works, and I hear a click.
  • Breaker: Reset the switch in the breaker box to ensure power is on.
  • Filter: Checked the filter at the return grille (not at the furnace) and confirmed it’s clean.

Any advice on what to check next or how to clear the valve safely? I’d really appreciate your help! Thanks in advance.

Below is the link of the video showing my furnace when it's running:

It sounds like your thermostat has triggered the furnace to come on but it's only getting as far as the inducer motor spinning. you need to look through the little sight glass in the front there and tell us if you see anything glowing behind the glass. If the answer is "NO" that you don't see anything glowing then if you're not handy you will need to call a tech to come out and troubleshoot further since there are a couple of components before the ignitor that may need to be tested before you just replace the ignitor. If you do see it glowing, video it glowing so we can see how bright it is because if it's not practically white hot the ignitor could be worn and needs to be replaced. Let us know what you see, there are tons of folks on here that between them will be able to point you in the right direction or connect you with someone who may be able to help you out.

the control usually has some sort of lights that indicate the error that caused it to shut down. probably the intake or exhaust was blocked was the previous issue. probably improper installation if it happened this quickly though there could be unusual environmental conditions.

@patience216 , did you shut off the switch at 2 minutes, or did the inducer motor stop by itself? Either way, 2 minutes for trial for ignition is too long.

There should be another window in the blower door that shows a code. Most of it isn't DIY. The work might be, but not the check.

The manual has a variety of troubleshooting aids. The LED would be on the control board.
