in A-C, Heat Pumps & Refrigeration
This is a 1989 unit that finally bit the dust. It has served us well but it’s time for a new one. I believe it’s a 4 ton but I don’t know the BTUs of the system. I would like to get the equivalent of what we had. Any help would be appreciated

    Get an accurate heat load loss performed. 
    Has the duct static pressure been tested?

    most systems I see are oversized on undersized ducts. 

    When hot and humid how often did it cycle?

    Lennox manual indicated the 511 having a max output of 4 tons.

    Being installed in 1989 it is most likely oversized.

    And under ducted as stated above.
