Weil McLain gold boiler that seems to have some issues with efficiency. Is this what the inside should look like?

If it's not leaking, it surely is condensing.
If it's not leaking, it needs a good cleaning, proper nozzle size/combustion set up, and a boiler or system bypass piping.

How do you know if it’s leaking when it has a auto fill?

And, what causes it to condense?

Well.... if this is hot water, the way to find out if it's leaking with an autofill is to close the valve on the line coming to the autofill so that the autofill can't do its thing. Then if the pressure drops... you have a leak. Somewhere. If it's steam, the idea is the same, but you keep an eye on the water level in the sight tube. If ti drops over a few runs (or even over one!) there is a leak. Soomewhere.

But at this point you don't know where -- while it might be in the boiler, it could be somewhere else. Or somewhere eless...

Again, if this is a hot water system, what causes condensation is too low a return water temperature over the whole run. It will be low, of course, when it starts up a run, but it should come up above 140 or so fairly quickly and stay there. If it stays low, you will have damage from condensation.

    Bad combustion or

    too low a flue temp

    or too cold return water

    will cause condensation

If you have water pressure 10-12lbs and the boiler is not leaking it is probably ok. The above three things I listed can be fixed by the RIGHT technician.

UNLESS the pins are rotted off the sections by running it while condensing
