Wall heat knob

in Gas Heating
I just moved into a new apartment but do not understanding the heating for the unit. There is a knob on the wall that only displays 1-5 and a button in the middle. I can’t figure out how to get the heat to stop running. Any knowledge would help.

    Looks like you have a TRV control
    On the european ones you need to turn the Knob very hard to turn it off ....
    The settings are as the following: Off..Freeze protection..1..2..3..4..5.
    Most of our customes like it between 2 and 3.
    The TRV or Valve could be in need of replacement !
