Would a clogged return cause a steam boiler to fail.

One again I have questions, once again I was brought to take apart a boiler, the hart ford loop area was clogged 99 percent would that cause a boiler to fail prematurely

Was the water level dropping as a result of the blockage? Was it dropping below the LWCO and the LWCO wasn't triggering?
I think you'd be surprised how little condensation is flowing in a small boiler so it's possible it wasn't affected at all.NJ Steam Homeowner.

Well think about it. A boiler with no or low water will fail. Steam goes out no or little water comes back.
Low water cutoffs are not 100% dependable. No control is.
If they didn't maintain the boiler water, there's a good chance the low water cut off is mucked up as well.0 -
