Thermostat for specific zone valve

Hello there

I am a newbie and I am looking for an analog simple thermostat suitable for a zone valve V8043D1197 or V8043D1205. The system I have is "heat only", with 24V AC (2 wires).
The second question: as the power is AC, matter how I will connect the terminals (R and Y)?

No batteries. No fancy stuff. It just works... and goes on working.

As to hook up -- a thermostat like that is a simple switch, just activated by temperature. You need 24 VAC to power the zone valve, and all the thermostat does is turn the power to the valve on or off -- so any two wires will do. That said, you might just as well use a red one and a white one...
