I've been asked to draw the temperature profile for steam and water passing through a heat exchanger. How would this look? Many thanks

Say what? How detailed, counterflow, cross flow, or parallel flow?

More insight: 'a feed water heater that supplies a boiler consists of a shell and tube heat exchanger (one shell and two tubes). Under normal operating conditions water enters the tubes at 10 kg/s and 290k and is heated by condensing saturated steam at 1 atm on the outer surface of tubes. Thanks

In that type of heat exchanger, the outer surface of the tubes will be at a more or less constant 373K. The liquid in the tubes will show a steady, but not linear (the curve is an exponential) rise from the entry point at 290, approaching, but not reaching 373 at the outlet. The slope of the curve initially and how closely it approaches the asymptote depends on the flow and the geometry of the tubes.
