Does anyone have a color picture and approximate date of manufacture of the HB Smith " RED ACE" steam boiler?  Thanks!

@dobro23, here's an old post with a photo of a Red Ace: https://forum.heatinghelp.com/discussion/129449/red-ace-boiler

@dobro23 , from that photo, the Red Ace looks like a cast-iron, dry-base, 3-pass boiler. This basic type of boiler was made between the 1930s and late 1950s. It's not as efficient as a new boiler, but will do surprisingly well with a modern burner and proper baffles.

Tell us more. Are you buying a house with a Red Ace in it?

Looks like the equivalent to the old smith model 15 which was later the 1100 series. I like the Beckett AF in the picture rebranded as a Texaco burner. used to see a lot of those around here as you could buy them cheaper as a Texaco than as a Beckett
