Adding a damper to an HVAC's intake

A friend gets a cold draft in winter from his package unit's intake. He wants to add a damper, can't find one (it's 16"x20"), is thinking about making one with corrugated cardboard. Have you-all better ideas?

    Are you talking about a packaged rooftop unit? Those usually have an option for a motorized damper that ties to the controls. Barometric dampers can be used for many applications.
    I think more info is needed to make a recommendation. Cardboard has issues with durability and flamability that make it a poor choice for HVAC systems.

    I think they are asking about a motel room style ptac. Normally those have a damper controlled by a knob or lever on the unit but the whole thing usually isn't sealed very well.
