Hi our water heater has lost it’s hot water pressure and makes a sound as if you are blowing up a balloon when it’s trying to heat up, which it doesn’t do. Does anyone know what causes the drop in pressure and the sound that happens when it’s trying to heat up? Any help would be appreciated!!

You need to turn it off and call a service tech who knows boilers. You have a dangerous condition if it's firing with no water or no pressure.
if there's no pressure, there are at least two problems:
1. there's a leak(s) on the system
2. the fill system is not working (bad auto fill valve, shut off valve closed).
Seriously, turn it off until it's repaired.Bob Boan
