Speakman Thermostatic Cartridge Replacement

I'm looking for a replacement for this cartridge. Back in the 90's when thermostatic protection was mandated in the code, many companies with high end faucets would adapt their trim to thermostatic valves that had already been developed. This shower valve trim is Newport Brass and no longer provides hot enough water.

    Thanks, Frank. I have since found out that Speakman has redesigned their thermostatic cartridge so that all three pieces that you see above are now one piece. Unfortunately, this would not work for this particular shower valve because it has a very long stem and the new Speakman all-in-one has a very short stem.

    I was hoping to find some some old parts on eBay or elsewhere, but nothing so far.

    Did you try contacting them? I bet they either have an extension or a replacement trim to accommodate your situation.

    That appears to be a stem extension on the short stem cartridge. If you soak the spline section in some lime away or penetrating oil you should be able to pull it off the shorter shank of the pressure balancing spool assembly and re use on the new cartridge. That extension can be cut to size/length depending on the trim or handle at the non spline sections to accommodate different trims as the whole extension is threaded for the handle screw if applicable.     Ben: How do you think the extension is attached to the short stem? I didn't see any obvious set screws.
