After you make that expensive repair and you still have the same problem, What will you check next?

I get all my meters like this from eBay for cheap and I think some of them have a leak in the diaphragm that lets the air escape which lets the steam in to condense.

they aren’t on a syphon, they are on a long 1/4” nipple

You’re not wrong @EBEBRATT-Ed but they mess up the low pressure readings

i mean Dwyer gauges aren't low quality, however they have a wide variety of diaphragms, some are rated for water, some for other fluids, some for other fluids and water, some for air only, some for other gases and air. Many models are not expensive to buy new directly from Dwyer.

I agree they are not low quality. These all seem to be air which should be fine. But something lets the steam get in on many of mine (I have an eBay problem sometimes haha)

I do have some that don’t let steam in, that’s why I think some of mine must have a small leak in the diaphragm. They all read correctly, but maybe have a slow leak which will let steam in to condense over hours or days. Putting a valve under them works too if I remember to close it
