Install a water filter

Wouldn’t it be advisable to install an inline water filter to the cold water supply on my 47-2? Sounds to me like a no brainer to help reduce any sediment entering the auto feed. Anybody?

IT WON'T HURT. But it will not remove ALL the things that end up clogging the float chamber. If your reason for installing the filter is to eliminate the need for flushing the 47-2, then forget the filter. You are still going the flush weekly as recommended by the manufacturer.Edward F Young. Retired HVAC ContractorSpecialized in Residential Oil Burner and Hydronics0
