Removing the wiring from the vent damper

In my last post I set my vent to "service" from "normal" to bypass the vent. I am wondering if anyone knows if I can remove the wiring on the aquastat that goes up to to the vent. The boiler is a Slantfin GG 100. Thanks

    What do you think?
And you should’ve posted this with your other post.

What model damper do you have? If it's a Field or Effikal, you can just replace the motor.

You do not want to disconnect the harness unless you remove the damper from the vent pipe for safety reasons ...

you will also need a 6 pin plug with the proper pin terminals jumped to complete the internal limit circuit in the aquastat

Following up on this thread. My son's boiler uses the same Aquastat with a Vent. The 6 pin connection at the Aquastat is a bit flaky (sometimes not making contact and boiler won't run. Is this likely the cable connection to the damper or the connector on the board? (Figuring out which one to replace).

It's the aquastat. Bad solder joints there are a known problem. Replace it with a Beckett AquaSmart or Hydrolevel Hydrostat to add some energy-saving features.
