3 Pipe Hydronic Baseboard

Good afternoon. My father in law claimed a guy demoing a house gave him cast iron baseboard. I was intrigued so I went to look at it. I’m no metallurgist but from the back this doesn’t look like cast iron and it doesn’t feel heavy enough. The front makes it look like cast iron. Do any of you know what this is? Thanks.

Not cast-iron- and I've never seen the name "Dombino" before. Where was it installed- i.e. maybe under a plate-glass window?

Thanks for the quick response. I knew it was too good to be true. I have cast iron on my second floor but my first floor has fin tube. I was hoping to replace the fin tube. Oh well. Thanks again.

I’m not sure where it was installed. The guy has a lot more of it so I’m guessing the house was full of it.

Easy enough to figure out what the metal is -- though I'm going to bet that various parts are different metals. A magnet and a file...

I guess the “under a plate glass window” threw me. It’s in Chicago. Haha.

I checked the Byrley "Hydronic Rating Handbook" and the only illustration I could find of baseboard that had 2 levels of piping was made by Kritzer. They look quite different from your pics, but one might use those ratings as a starting point.

Thanks Steamhead. I’m guessing that it has a higher rating than what I have but probably not worth the amount of work necessary to retrofit it.
