    check installed? I've seen them do that when they are either being spun backwards or have flow when un-powered from another cir, for example.

    This was during a call for heat. The system was installed 10 years ago and it's just now acting up. (I didn't know the Alpa's have been around that long.)

    Don't know about a check, but there seems to be gravity flow.

    Odd that it would just now start if it was a mis-pipe. Maybe it fried form over-voltage or something. Try Osborne Sales the local rep for some answers.

    Alphas are built in Fresno, maybe 15 years now? We are getting old :(

    Did you try to unpower it and repower it? leave it off for a few minutes.

    This is a circuit board problem. I guess the polarity and voltage of the outlet that the pump is plugged into is correct.

    Yes, kept on flashing.

    We replaced the motor this morning. The old impeller spun freely. I think the electronics went bad.

    I've never done this. I like to know why thing fail. I've taken apart many devices to understand the "why".

    I would pry off the label and look for screws under the label that fasten the black electronic control to the pump housing. I would look at the control circuitry and look to see if it is plugged into the pump windings and that the control board is making good contact. Is anything looking burnt? Possibly a power surge.

    I always plug the new boilers and ECM pumps into a computer grade surge protector.
