What type of radiator is this? And which is best to replace it?

Hello,
We are remodeling our basement. This radiator (see pic front and top) is the only heating source in our basement it works but it is outdated (i.e. ugly) we want to know what type of radiator this is? And if we want to replace it which is best? Our basement is 12 Ft x 8 Ft. Thanks for your help!!

    That looks like a WarmMorning gas heater. Looks like it is vented -- which is a very good thing. There are any number of vented gas heaters on the market -- the BigBox stores usually have a selection, but the better ones, such as Rinnai, are a little harder to track down. WarmMorning itself is out of business, though parts can still be had.

    Newer ones are not only direct vented, but take their combustion air from outside, too, which has real advantages. You want to match the type of gas (LP or natural) and, if the heater does a satisfactory job of heating the room, the rating (in BTUh) of the heater, which should be on the nameplate somewhere.

    If you're remodeling, I'd probably go with a vented gas fireplace, with a blower. Vent to outside and draw in combustion air from outside as @Jamie Hall mentioned.
