Cleaning a plugged aluminum block boiler

Any suggestions on how to clean a plugged ECR UB-200 aluminum block? Spraying mineral oil 7 times did not work well. Utica said not to fire boiler with mineral oil on the block.

1- who said use mineral oil?
2- why is it plugged? Cleaning is temporary if it's not firing correctly.
3- when was the last time it was serviced by a qualified tech?

Bosch/Buderus says to use mineral oil to clean their HXs.
I thought you were supposed to let it burn off

The mineral oil part starts at about 3 minutes in.

Two btu per sq ft for degree difference for a slab1 -

Yes, thank you for posting that information. I don't come across very many aluminium Buderus boilers. I wouldn't have thought that mineral oil would aid in cleaning the heat exchanger. Learning surprising information like that is why I come here, and a big part of what makes this site great.0

I believe fernox makes a cleaner for aluminum boilers.0

Where I previously worked I installed a bunch of these. Never had to clean one though but I herd about it. Their nice boilers if you don't mind aluminum HXs.

Axiom has some good stuff... wear a respirator though.

Insist with mineral oil, it doesn't make sense for this solution not to work.0
