Our house was built with a septic tank to back and was converted to Pipe out to the Street..so it goes around back..down side of house then straight to street..about near 200 ft. Do Plumbers usually have snakes that long ?
Thanks

Hi, Snakes can be coupled together, but a two way cleanout half way along the length of the line would certainly be a nice thing. ;)

Thank you Larry..so Snakes can be coupled to reach the street drain 200 ft away yes.
It sure would be great to have a midway clean out..I had a quote once and we just couldnt manage it.

One more thing..this is an old house and there are Drain Pipes that come up next to house where Gutters used to empty into..can a snake be sent down one of those to get to and go up main seer pipe.

Some plumbers and drain cleaning companies have a snake with a camera attached to show what is down a drain.
A snake can be sent down your gutter drains but more often than not, those drains are abandoned because they have filled with dirt and debris or the pipes have deteriorated for many other reasons.

This often causes water leaking into the basement. The Dead Men knew foundations are not watertight, so they installed these drains. It's worth it to clear them and repair them if needed- but they should never empty into a septic system or sanitary sewer.

On the gutter drains -- you really don't want to find out that they go to the main sewer, if they do. In most jurisdictions today it is illegal to connect gutter drains, yard drains, or any other type of storm drain to a sanitary (main) sewer.

Yes company that unclogged Sewer line sent a Camera through the pipe from the Basement Access ..but Pipe exits back of house and circles round before it gets to straight part going to street they could not get Camera more than around 35 ft. in so we could only see inside curved part of Sewer pipe up to about where it goes straight

Have someone with a metal detector walk along the route of the sewer line. There may be a cleanout somewhere along there that has been buried- I found two at my house. If you find one, simply have it extended above ground.
