Which conversion kit for WM EG-55

We have an old Weil Mclain EG-55 PI Series 1 water boiler. To replace the gas valve, Weil Mclain says to use the conversion kit 510-811-459. However, the gas connection pipes are 1/2", and the old gas valve is 1/2" as well.
This kit has a 3/4" gas valve. Would it be fine to use it with fittings?
Shouldn't the correct kit model should be 510-811-458, which has a 1/2" x 1/2" gas valve?

The kit probably comes with a thread reducer to reduce down to 1/2”.DL Mechanical LLC Heating, Cooling and Plumbing 732-266-5386
