Need a new oil boiler, suggestions appreciated

I have a 900 square foot , well insulated home in Maine. The property is in use except for the winter months. During the winter months I set the heat at 50 degrees; I also have a monitoring system that lets me know if there is a power outage. I am looking to replace my oil boiler system with a new unit. I am looking for feedback on what brand I should be considering. Thanks

Is this a Hot water or steam system?

Particularly in areas such as Maine, it is far more important that you find an installer who is familiar with your type of heating system -- steam, hot water radiators, hot water fin tube, hot water radiant, etc. -- and who is known to be competent and let them select a boiler brand which they are familiar with and which they know they can get parts for and are happy servicing.

That is a very small load, so you will be somewhat limited as to available makes, but there are a number of good makes. But the brand is nowhere near as important as the installer and installation.

For oil, your installers smallest (3 section) favorite 3 pass boiler or the EK-1.
With 900 sq ft any oil boiler is overkill so really no need for a heat loss on that. And well insulated.
Outdoor reset can be used to increase efficiency.

You said home so theres an oven/range, clothes dryer, outdoor grill?
Have you thought about a gas mod con? Some can modulate down to the BTU's you need for your 900 sq ft at 50°
For that a heat loss calculation should be done.
    Again, outdoor reset.

    Is there freeze protection?

Do you have a way to monitor actual temp when your not there?

Do you use the Viessmann burners?
A pretty rare bird on LI NY. By me anyway.
I'm set for a RI trip soon for gas. I need to grab someone there to show me the oil boilers and burners.

I have seen ALOT of Pure Pro Trio's being installed in Maine, they are are house brand from FW Webb which is the largest heating distributor in the area.
They are very easy to service, and affordable. I have been impressed with the ones i have seen in service.
here is a link that has info about the unit.
