Bundy radiators for steam and hot water : also heating specialties (c.1894)

I love these radiators. They are stylishly handsome and work great. In 2005 I bought an 1879 Victorian that has two-pipe gravity steam heat having these exact radiators - Two Row Bundy radiators, marked on the base as "A.A. GRIFFING CO. N.Y. PAT SEP 1874" After moving in I pulled them all out, had them sandblasted and repainted. Then I replaced all the leaking valves and vents and re-installed them. Now if I can get my oil-fired steam boiler (that has a corroded exchange block with a hole) replaced with the proper near boiler piping I will finally eliminate the banging and should be golden.0

Banging could also be pipe pitch. I had to shim several of my radiators by a 1/2” because the floor joists had settled so much.
Still have one that sounds like oil bubbling when you are cooking popcorn on the stove. It’s like a 800lb, 6’ long radiator with 6 feet, so I need to get some better shims and a floor jack under there.
