Old old gas boiler conversion burner can anyone explain this old burner

Hello, has anyone ever come across this type of gas burner and could tell me how the dinosaur works?

First picture is an old gas valve actuator. The second obviously is a Janitrol burner.
Question is not so much how it works but should it be working in this day and age????0 -
minneapolis honeywell or detroit lubricator?
motorized gas valve. power open power close.
20-30 years ago i would see those here and there but always called an old guy for help. now that im the old guy im glad i dont see'm. never did figure out the wiring on those.
while im all for keeping those dinosaurs alive, i believe the janitrol is on of those that cannot be modernized0 -
That's exactly why I used to be afraid of gas.
