Control for window louver

To pass inspection for my (large) residential boiler, I need to set up the window louver such that the boiler gas burner will not fire unless the louver is open.

My current configuration uses a Belimo control to open the louver when the t-stat calls for heat, but there is no additional control to prevent the boiler firing if the louver does not open successfully.

So two questions: First, any suggestions on the the louver control to use for sensing when the louver is open? And second, any suggestions on how to wire the t-stat, burner, and louver control to meet the condition of not firing the burner if the louver does not open successfully?

    You can also use a belimo actuator with the end switch built in.

    Yep I think i will replace actuator in place now with the same model but with a built in switch than can close a circuit when the louver is fully open.

    I think I can wire that circuit in series with the other boiler safety controls so the burner will not fire unless the circuit is closed by the actuator switch.

    A follow up question.

    I also need to open the louver when the hot water heater exhaust fans turn on. So the louver needs to open if either boiler is firing up or the hot water heater is running.

    I need an automatic switch that allows either of the two incoming 110V AC power sources to send 110V AC power to the louver actuator to open the louver.

    Any suggestions?

    Use two RIB relays with their N/O contacts wired in parallel to power the actuator. One relay’s coil will be powered by the exhaust fan one by the boiler.

    Some jurisdictions will not accept an end switch as part of an actuator- they want it on the louver itself. The reason is that the linkage can fail, and the actuator will operate and allow the burners to start, but the louver won't actually be open. Check with the AHJ to make sure.
