R410a or R404a?

in A-C, Heat Pumps & Refrigeration
I am looking at two chilled water chillers. One uses R410a an the other R404a. Based on your experience why would chillers that have the same purpose use different refrigerants? Would you prefer one over the other? Looking for a good discussion on this one.

    They operate at different pressures. 404a was a jack of all trades, master of none cost effective solution. It’s used more in refrigeration and less in space conditioning as it works better I think for lower temps. 410a is usually more efficient but may be less suited for lower temps.

    Both are slowly being phased out. Very slowly. Though current politics will likely grind that to a halt.
