Old corps plumbers

Removed all most 60 year old toilet in new mechanical room, bolts are all rusted away and ring is about an inch below the surface and that one inch is about two inches bigger all the way around. Will tear out all the old stuff and fill in the gaps with new cement to give me a clean three inch hole level with the top.

Looking for a quality flange extender with lots of brass and no rubber to rot if possible. No lead. (Nothing in search)

Thanks

Plastic is about what you will find. I have used the Sioux Chief spacer, glue a few together to get the lift you need.

Or the type that slides into the pipe.

Most likely will use the 3" push-tite flange.
Any comments on how long the rubber will last?
Being it's in slab, does it really matter?
    Anyone?

    How old are you :)

No Hub gaskets and bands are used in cast iron DWV piping, they seem to last. In some cases they may out last the cast iron pipe!

Same with O rings in S&D PVC piping. Hard to get away from rubber seals.

Hello, To agree with Bob, the only time I've seen failed no-hubs is when they have no metal covering and are exposed to UV. Otherwise, they just keep on going. ;)

Only 62. Seems like every time someone mentions an item from the big box stores, someone rips them a new one, so I just thought it would be safer to start here and work the other direction. Will go with the push tight. Thanks

Surprised no one told me to use a bell and oakum, put I did say no lead. :)

Wonder if rubber's life can be extended by dressing it with something when it's new? Plumber's grease or silicone or glycerine or .....?
