Weil Mclain 230 boiler shutoff due to outdoor sensor - help!

in THE MAIN WALL
I am a non-professional, just a guy trying to fix my boiler. It stopped working this morning. The display (see photo) says its the outdoor sensor. Can I disconnect that temporarily to get it working? It's Sunday and the HVAC company is closed...

    Did you try manually reset?
    I didn't read thru the manual but you may be able to either:
    1. Put it in test mode.
    2. Remove outdoor reset. I didn't read into it enough to see if you can do that via programming and/or you have to remove the wires for the outdoor sensor from the control.

    Thanks for the manual.

    I did try the reset, which got rid of the lockout. But it's "stuck" on standby because of the outdoor sensor issue.

    I know there the two wires are screwed onto the circuit block, but I don't know where that is. I took off the cover (photo attached) but still don't see it. Assuming I can find it, do you think removing the wires will fix it?

    Find the sensor outside.
    Pull one of the wires off the sensor.
    You will need a very small screwdriver.
    I'm guessing the sensor got wet and is trashed.

    OK, that worked, thanks!! The heat is back on! My wife says thanks too.

    Do i need to replace the outdoor sensor? It's an optional device according to the manual. What does it do, anyway?

    it saves you money by lowering your boiler temp supply. I would also suggest cleaning the condensate line from the boiler..when was the last time someone serviced the unit? To include pulling the front plate and using the bar weil mclain supplies to clean it...
