oil burner pressure gauge

Oil boiler with water radiators I may have some air in the system still and when I run the boiler pressure gauge doesn't move It's on 0 the circulator pumps working cuz I feel the pipes getting hot is there a way to check the pressure gauge or is the gauge be working and I have no pressure for some reason can I change the pressure gauge without draining the system thank you very much I assume if I run the system that it must have some pressure in it if the hot water is moving thank you very much

    It's called a tridicator. You will have to get the system to zero psi and be fast in the swap. close all vents and or auto vents so the system goes into vacuum then swap away. You can also get a psi gauge with hose adapter and screw on the boiler drain or any other drain in the system to show pressure. like this one (but try to get a gauge with a lower scale like max of 60-psi) : http://www.pft-alexander.com/uploads/6/0/4/1/60417059/s782439612586594443_p61_i1_w400.jpeg

    Thanks Eric would it be dangerous to run it with the gauge not working properly would the pressure relief valve just go off don't you think I must have pressure if the systems running or could there be too much air in the system to create pressure thank you
