Is there a reason the manual states the expansion tank must be in the return piping.

itll work fine there with the circulator on the supply....the main thing is to pump away from the "point of no pressure change" (expansion tank) this is so the circulator will move water by increasing its discharge pressure....its for better air removal.....i see installs piped improperly and i have to go back every year to purge air out of the system.....i have yet to go back on my sysyems for that problem....and the feed valve should always be located at the expansion tank connection.
