hot rod, thanks for the heads up. i've seen their trucks BUT i'm looking for a specific person within a company. someone skilled and passionate like many of the commentators on this site....all the companies will say they have skilled people....unfortunately i'm having a tough time getting even a heat loss calculation to properly size a boiler much less a skilled retrofit design and possible install. the current NTI T150 boiler runs on natural gas with an indirect water heater. i'll likely add solar at some point so seems a nat gas water heater with electric backup would be prudent. also seems a variable speed circulator pump would be more efficient use of electricity. the maxim "kiss" is straight down my alley along with low maintenance and longevity...
there seems to be a many feasible options on the hardware side, definitely a love affair with Lochnivar up here but i kinda like what i've read about the HTP line. regardless, the key appears to be the design and installation even in a "simple" setup like mine...that's my focus at this juncture...
