That never worked correctly....1/2 home depot pex used .....about 9 radiators a zone....boiler is a 167K....heat load is at worst 65K.....customer paid $XX,XXX.XX....contractor just left after he couldn't get the heat going ....notice the pump on the return (wired to come on everytime boiler fires)...and all the pumps on the supply.......3.5 million dollar home in Bedford ave in Brooklyn.....House was just renovated..i had to cut sheetrock from ceiling to floor..
..

.i felt bad but its the only way to get this fix....im homerunning every radiator to remote manifolds one for each floor using Viega fostapex and repiping boiler and indirect....

yes...this is my second one this year with similar work....i think its the same contractor.....i wish i had pics of the air conditioning work before i fixed it....i was originally called for a condensate leak from sweating ductwork.....i ran all new correctly sized and insulated ducts....the customer asked for a high efficiency boiler and they gave him this direct vent.......Oh and all circulator pumps had internal flow checks with the external B&G flo control valves

A nice thing about home running every radiator is you could potentially put a thermostat in every room. I did that in my great big Victorian. Any more than two big radiators in a loop, the water cools too fast anyway. Initially I thought I'd use the individual thermostats to lower the temp in the unused rooms, but this ended up being impractical for the most part and I saw little savings. I have all Honeywell 8000s, so what I do now is keep all the rooms at 67º. Then when I enter a room I intend to stay in for a while I can get decadent and raise the temp to 72º. With the 8000 you just push the up arrow for the new temp you want, then tell it how long you want it to remain at that new temp. When times up it will automatically revert. Easy.

Customer did not pay enough for the original installation.....$3,500,000 divided by $99,999.99 (counting your X's to the max) is only 3.5% of the value of the house. He got a bargain and that was what the heating system was maybe worth.

Even a forced air/AC job in a track house is about easily over 5 % of the value of house. IMO

Yes, a very nice job to upgrade the "new" install.

And why should you feel bad.....I know I've been there myself on a much smaller scale for many "fix ups". It is the syndrome experienced by many tradesmen to apologize as you repair the previous knuckleheads mess.
