Help please...Brand new boiler with auto-feeder not working properly...constantly overfilling....

I've had the techs over 4 times to fix this and they said they tweaked the maximum setting to allow water to flow back into the boiler but it's still not working. The water is returning after the auto-feeder does its job and thus resulting in an overfilled boiler every time. The reason it's taking so long for the water to return to the boiler is because the heating system piping was extended to the 3rd floor of the house since our attic is a finished space and therefore has a much longer distance to travel back to the boiler. Hope this makes sense to somebody because the installers and technicians don't know what to do and can't seem to figure out a fix. Thanks for any help you can give...

    Will need pictures of piping, boiler, and the new piping to 3rd. floor.

    It's very unlikely that the extended piping to the third floor has anything to do with it. Assuming that it is pitched properly it never has water standing in it, and never has much water at all. On the other hand, it is very possible that some or all of the wet returns in the basement, which are full of water all the time, are gunked up. Can you get at them to flush them out?

    The auto-feeder, if it is set up with maximum delay, should be OK; if the return is slower than the maximum delay, you need to fix that...

    Ditto to what Jamie said. Don't shoot the messenger. Sounds like you have clogged returns or maybe there is a pressure issue or an "A" dimension issue
