Steam riser capacity chart?

I don't like the one in Burnham's Heating Helper book.
What is "riser pitch"? I'm trying to solve a problem with multiple (vertical) risers. Pitch doesn't enter the conversation.

1" is the pipe size (inside diameter) and 45 is the EDR capacity.

I'm sure I've got 5 copies floating around various locations. It didn't occur to me to look there. I was thinking dry mechanical reference materials...
Not wildly entertaining classic literature.
