Steam riser capacity chart?

I don't like the one in Burnham's Heating Helper book.
What is "riser pitch"? I'm trying to solve a problem with multiple (vertical) risers. Pitch doesn't enter the conversation.

1" = 45, 1-1/4" = 98, 1-1/2" = 152, 2" = 288 as per page 89 of The Lost Art.

1" is the pipe size (inside diameter) and 45 is the EDR capacity.
