SHUT OFF VALVE ON AERO FURNACE

Hi Dan,
Simple question. Which way does one turn the oil line valve on our hot water heater's Aero oil burner to shut it off or close it? There is no indicator on the faucet like valve. Clockwise or Counterclockwise?

It's a rare valve that doesn't shut off clockwise...

Better question, why do you need to close the valve?
What kind of valve? If it's a fire-matic, could be broke if your spinning it and the handle comes off.

righty tighty, lefty loosey. Turning the "wheel" counter clockwise opens the valve, and you will see the threaded stem of the valve become more present as it in in the open position. When it sops, you stop, or the solder will break loose in the handle, and then you are out of business
