Is it necessary to install vibration isolation pads on new cast iron commercial boilers?

    Isolation from what? The boiler from the building?

    Pads or no pads, make sure that the boiler is free to expand and contract -- not anchored to the floor at all four corners!

    When I install Weil-McLain 80 series boilers I put strips of steel under them (where they would contact pad) so they can slide and won't dig into foundation.
