Another Vito Combi

Just commissioned this Viessmann 222F combi with a "staple-up" main floor and wall panel radiators on the 2nd fl. Took out an oil-fired steam system that was way past its prime. The owners took advantage of the new gas main on the street and we piped the home for new gas appliances. This boiler is a compact answer to smaller homes with less than 3 baths. The integral HX and SS storage tank won't handle filling a large soaking tub or huge DHW flow rates, but has many advantages.

I imagine its an expensive unit.Quality products but a hard sell I would think with the water limitations.@Rich is this in the same market as HTP.Very nice install. That Taco fill valve has given me problems before.Install looks great.

Believe it or not, the 222-F is less expensive than the Rinnai equivalent (at least around here.) The space savings plus reduction of installation T&M easily justify it when/if the sizing works out. IMO a much better fit for small spaces than other combis we have available here in the US.

you have to love fostapex for a clean pex install.

I have to ask, why the odd fill/backflow combination? Code specific?

The RPZ is required in WA state. The fill valve (PRV) is attached to the RPZ

Right, thought so. We use the combination units up here, watts 911s, or caleffi 573009A

Does that unit have a internal expansion tank for the heating side?

Nice install and nice to see you using their mixing valve as a complete package.

we always use the mixing valve and motor when establishing a required secondary temperature.
