    The snow isn't too bad right now but that northeast wind is beginning to whip. In a couple of hours it will be nasty out there the bay will be wild.

    Imagine how brutal storms like these must have seemed 200 years ago. Now we can just sit in our houses cozy and warm. We don't have to string a rope to the wood pile so we don't get lost while fetching wood in the middle of blizzard.

    It's a different world.

    I'm quite happy to be here on my hilltop in northwest Connecticut, with Cedric happily thundering away in the basement. Chappy is a beautiful place -- my great uncle had a house there within walking distance of the old "On Time" (does that still run?) but in this weather? No thanks...

    The old tracks are now just a bike and walking (paved) route Jaimie. I think this storm will skirt by your area

    Its still gusting over 55 MPH, projecting 65 MPH where I used to live.

    Same as with MVY.
