VIDEO: gas valve clicking rapidly when cycling off

Laars Mini Therm furnace with Honeywell gas valve clicks rapidly when cycling off. The sound is definitely coming from the gas valve area. The strange thing is that the colder it is outside the longer it clicks. The t-stat (honeywell Luxpro two wire) is not clicking and the furnace shuts off smoothly/clicking stops if the t-stat is turned down during the clicking episode. Any idea what's going on here??

I should mention that I'm a renter and the landlord thinks this sound is normal. I'm mostly concerned about a risk of failure of the gas valve or the entire system. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

If i had to guess it's the valve.

Thanks for the reply. Is there any inherent danger in letting the furnace operate like this? My girlfriend is starting to spaz about it and may verbally assault the landlord soon... :#

Difficult to tell without being there. If it was me, I'd service the unit. It's definitely not "normal".
