How do you control your basement slabs? Ie, one thermostat... One thermostat, one slab sensor... Etc. Where would you place the slab sensor for the best control? Hints, tips, advice would be fantastic. Approx 1300ft, 2 40x12 rooms and then a 12 x 20 mechanical room. Maybe a washroom and storage room thrown down there.

Are you using wet heat or forced air? Are you air conditioning too?

If you can get your tubing layout to match you heat loss fairly closely, and you have outdoor reset installed to prevent overshoots, I don't think you need the slab sensor.
As for t stats, are you keeping the rooms about the same temp? Is there significant solar gain in one room that does not exist in another?

Your sensor should be no less than 48" and no more than 52" AFF.

Basement is 8', 7' is below grade. Just 4 Windows so very little solar gain. Basement well start as just the rooms... Rec room and tv/play room and meh room. All rooms will be equal temperature.

If the bath will be a zone of its own, a slab sensor/ air stat is nice. I've used the Uponor radiant stat or tekmar

If you use a slab sensor put it into a piece of 3/8 or 1/2 pex with a copper or brass stub out or cap for good conduction to the sensor. A squirt of transfer grease helps also.
